PI Expert includes a comprehensive library of components, complete with specifications, manufacturer's names and part numbers, that you can use when creating and optimizing a design. The Component Library included in PI Expert contains all of the components necessary to design and optimize a power conversion solution based on any of the devices supported in PI Expert. This includes Transformers, Capacitors, Diodes, Zeners/TVSs, Inductors, Optocouplers, Heatsinks, Shunt Regulators, Thermistors, Fusible Resistors, Fuses, Silicon Controlled Rectifiers, Transistors, Varistors and Synchronous Rectifiers. Component Sets unlock the power of the component library by allowing you to create many different collections of components, called sets, that you want to be available to PI Expert during optimization, manual design and documentation of the power conversion solution.
The Component Library allows you to add and modify components that PI Expert has available for use when creating and optimizing designs. The component library offers Sorting and Filtering Features that help make using the component library more efficient. Components added to the component library are not immediately available for use in designs with the exception of the All Records component set, since you need to add them to a component set first.
Component Sets allow you to include or exclude virtually any component in the component library that is available to PI Expert when designing, optimizing and documenting a power conversion solution. A component set, can only be made up of components that exist in the library. Thus, you must add a component in the component library and then include it in a set before you can use that component in a design. You can use this component set when creating your design by using the Wizard - Design Settings dialog or when editing a design using the Design Default Settings dialog. You can also choose the All Records component set which will use all of the components in the component library.
The All Records component set is a special component set that dynamically updates to include all of the components included in the component library.
