Output Diodes

Use the Output Diodes form to review the output diodes used in the current design. PI Expert selects the output diodes during optimization and tries to select the diode that gives the best output voltage tolerance (on cross-regulated outputs) and has the best current and voltage specifications for each output. You can replace the automatically chosen diode by selecting another one from the Diodes Library. The main output is marked with the M symbol.

Changing an Output Diode

To change an output diode:

  1. Select a diode you want to replace and click Change. The Output Diodes dialog box appears. You can also double-click on the row with the output diode.

  2. The Output Diodes dialog box displays the parameters of the currently selected diode. Click the black down arrow control on the right of the calculator icon to change the diode.

  3. Click OK.

The diode is now replaced. The icon indicates that the custom selected diode is added to the list. Click the icon to open Output Diodes dialog box  to revise the custom settings or restore the default values.
