A soft finish circuit is recommended for high output voltage designs (> 12 V).
Charging the output capacitors to the output voltage at low line can take longer than expected, which may cause the device to go into auto-restart. The soft finish circuit ensures that a feedback signal is received by the device even if the output has not yet reached regulation at the end of the device’s built-in soft-start time.
