Power Integrations currently offers a number of power conversion solution ICs. These products can be divided into two major groups: AC-DC converters and Lighting products. The following products supported in PI Expert Online.

InnoSwitch Family

The InnoSwitch™ Family of ICs combines primary, secondary and feedback circuits in a single surface-mounted off-line flyback switcher IC. The InnoSwitch IC incorporates the primary FET, the primary-side controller, a secondary-side controller for synchronous rectification and an innovative new FluxLink™ technology that eliminates the need for an optocoupler.

LinkSwitch Family

The LinkSwitch™ families of ICs are low power offline switchers that incorporate both a high-accuracy controller and high voltage Switch into a single low pin-count package. LinkSwitch devices use simple ON/OFF controllers, which are highly suitable for applications where light-load/no-load efficiency is a key specification requirement. They are optimized for isolated flyback power supplies and, in a non-isolated variant, for low-current offline buck applications. The LinkSwitch families leverage a variety of feedback strategies such as Primary Side Regulated (PSR), classical opto feedback and direct measurement of the output voltage.

LED Drivers

·         LinkSwitch-PH is a family which is specifically designed for use with Solid state lighting and can be used to design drivers up to 75 Watts of output power.

·         The LinkSwitch-PL family is also intended for use with Solid state lighting and can be used for drivers from 1 W to 15 Watts.

 

LYTSwitch Family

The LYTSwitch Family of highly integrated LED Driver ICs enable the design and production of LED drivers that use up to 70% fewer components compared to discrete solutions. LED drivers that incorporate LYTSwitch ICs are smaller, lighter, and more portable than comparable power supplies. In addition, LYTSwitch devices in both isolated and non-isolated topologies deliver the low THD required by today's lighting market, while safely meeting challenging line-voltage conditions. Finally, LYTSwitch products with dimming capability feature excellent compatibility and dimming range.

TOPSwitch Family

Power Integrations offers a variety of families for high voltage AC-DC power conversion ICs for relatively low output power levels (less than 250 W), which include the TOPSwitch-JX, TOPSwitch-HX and the TOPSwitch-GX, which are all PWM control based families.

The latest generation of our flagship TOPSwitch™ series of high efficiency integrated power conversion ICs is TOPSwitch-JX. TOPSwitch-JX incorporates a 725 V power Switch and full-featured, multi-mode controller to achieve excellent no-load performance and high efficiency across the entire load range.

Hiper Family

The Hiper™ families of ICs are multi-die, heat-sinkable, SIP packaged modules for offline power supplies from 75 W to 400 W. They incorporate the controllers and high voltage switches needed to implement power factor correction and high voltage DC/DC conversion for a variety of applications including LED lighting, PC and TV power, video game power, printers, copiers and power tool chargers.

The Hiper Family of devices includes the HiperPFS, HiperPFS-2, HiperPFS-3, HiperTFS, Hiper PLC and HiperLCS families which make up the group of devices supporting high power support.

TinySwitch Family

The TinySwitch™ families of products combine a high voltage power Switch and ON/OFF flyback power supply controller in a single 7 pin SO or PDIP package. Suitable for small open-frame offline power supplies or power adapters up to 25 W, TinySwitch devices have excellent no-load and light load efficiency and extremely fast transient response. The external circuitry accompanying TinySwitch is simple to design and power sub-systems using the TinySwitch product are relatively insensitive to component tolerances due to manufacturing variances, aging and operating temperature.

The TinySwitch-III and TinySwitch-4 are IC families which can provide up to 36.5 W of output power.

LinkZero Family

The LinkZero™ series of ICs include LinkZero-LP and LinkZero-AX. LinkZero-LP is a zero no-load consumption, integrated offline switcher IC for 3 W chargers and adapters. LinkZero-AX enables designers to achieve 0.00 watts of standby energy consumption in auxiliary power supplies and features an innovative power-down mode that effectively turns off the auxiliary power supply when the end product is idle. LinkZero products are suitable for applications such as chargers for cell/cordless phones, PDAs, power tools, MP3/portable audio devices, shavers, as well as ultra low consumption standby and auxiliary supplies.

 DPA-Switch

The DPA-Switch™ IC is a highly integrated solution for DC-DC conversion applications with 16-75 VDC input. DPA-Switch uses the same proven topology as TOPSwitch™, cost effectively integrating a power Switch, PWM control, fault protection and other control circuitry onto a single CMOS chip. High performance features are enabled with three user configurable pins. Hysteretic thermal shutdown is also provided. In addition, all critical parameters (i.e. current limit, frequency, PWM gain) have tight temperature and absolute tolerance, to simplify design and reduce system cost.
