The PI Device Features ILIM/PLIM form displays the calculated values related to current limit programming and power limiting. This form is optional depending on PI Expert family. For TOPSwitch-GX and TOPSwitch-HX packages with M-pin function available either UV/OV or ILIM/PLIM form is in view according to the M-pin function value in Design Options. Use the External Current limit Reduction Factor (KI) parameter to perform current limit programming. Click the calculator icon on the right of the parameter box to type the custom value. If the value you specified exceed the maximum allowed limit you will get the warning message. See KI Limiting for more information.
Select the Power Limiting Over Input Voltage Range check box to enable overload power limiting. See Power Limiting for more information. You will get the warning message if output overload power limiting is not required.
You can customize the values of Peak Current at VMAX and Peak Current at VMIN parameters. The value in Worst Case Overload Power box is calculated automatically.
You can display the Output Overload Power Chart by clicking the Chart button:
At the Overload Power Chart dialog box, you can do the following actions:
- saves the chart as .bmp file.
- prints out the chart.
- shows or hides the chart legend.
- Opens the Graph Options dialog box where you can customize the chart.
The Series tab allows you to hide/show graphs and specify their color and line style.
The Common tab lets you to edit the value range for X and Y axes and the chart title.
The Colors tab allows you to adjust the colors and styles for the chart components.
