Information

The primary function of the bias damping resistor is to damp the drain voltage ring that gets reflected to the bias winding. A 2ohm resistor is recommended. A higher damping resistor or higher bias winding current will result in a higher voltage drop across the damping resistor and may affect regulation.

  • Limit the voltage drop across the damping resistor to 1% of the bias winding voltage to avoid issues with regulation.
