The selected bias resistor value can be too large. The resistor can not allow enough current to be fed into the device to properly bias it. This means that the high voltage drain current source will be used resulting in high device power consumption and great no-load input power

• Choose a smaller bias resistor value and confirm that the bench is operated properly.
