Error |
KP_TRANSIENT is lower than the minimum level. This may result in premature termination of switching cycles. |
§ Increase size of device § Increase efficiency (N) § Increase reflected output voltage (VOR). The maximum recommended value for VOR is 135V § Consider device family with larger power capability.

For the PeakSwitch and TinySwitch-III family, there is on time extension functionality wherein the duty cycle can extend beyond its datasheet limit. KP_TRANSIENT is lower than the is the calculated minimum KP value that occurs after a switching cycle has been skipped. When the drain current starts from zero and ramps to the current limit, the on time for this first cycle is much longer than during steady state operation. This reduces the Off time, reducing the time for the magnetizing inductance to reset, and causing the next cycle to start with a much higher initial current, a lower ripple current and a lower value of KP.
